While we move through summer 2021, there is still a level of uncertainty regarding the way Rotary will continue to provide the human connections that Rotary members valued previously. While the motto of "hands-face-space" will certainly be part of routine in the club, it's obvious that trust is increasing and more people are making face-to-face relationships. Rotary has certainly changed. While we are in the summer months in 2021 there's a lingering sense of uncertainty regarding how our work with society includes the highly valued connections between people that were enjoyed by Rotary members of the past. It is not clear if the mantra "hands face space" will be an integral part of our routine however, it is clear that there's a rising confidence and a determination to meet face-to-face. Rotary, however, has developed. Rotary is a community that helps build lasting relationships. As we continue to use our online meetings for business meetings, we've re-introduced interactions with others and serve in a safer face-to facing format. To build an improved future for Rotary, we have used to take advantage of the epidemic and our previous practices. In a recent Rotary survey, it was encouraging to learn that about 75 percent of clubs are organizing their activities as usual' events" The months of summer are full of club members on the move, focusing on projects such as river and beach cleans litter picking and of course the ongoing service to the society of Rotary volunteer teams giving their time for COVID testing and vaccination centers. It was wonderful to find out that during an earlier Rotary study seventy percent of members were planning on their regular activities and community projects that had previously been useful to communities across Great Britain. Compliance and insurance play crucial roles. It is our belief that Rotary volunteers develop lasting friendships through their commitment to each other of volunteering time. This is the reason I was so happy to get the chance to be a part of Rotary when I joined in the year 2002. Rotary is also able to provide me with a wonderful group of people who are like-minded.
